Lesson Program Sandstone Stables is committed to quality instruction for riders of all abilities, child through adult and beginner through advanced, whether you have your own horse or choose to ride one of our lesson horses or ponies.
Our riding instructors focus on strengthening basic skills such as flatwork, correct position, impulsion, straightness, and rhythm. From there, our instructors and students work together to continually improve skills as both a rider and a horseperson.
Students will learn how to work safely and efficiently around horses, how to care for and groom their mounts, and how to tack up and untack.
Riding lessons are given Tuesday through Sunday, and we offer a variety of lesson options to suit your skill level and schedule:
Half hour private
One hour private
One hour semi-private: 2 riders
One hour group: 3 or more riders
Please come wearing long pants and a shoe with a heel. Tack will be provided, and we can supply a helmet for those just starting out.
Training Program Training rides and groundwork by one of our professionals are always available. We will also address any concerns you may have regarding way of going or behavior by working with both you and horse in the saddle and on the ground.
Summer Camp In the summer, we run a camp program focused on safe, correct riding in a fun environment. Activities include riding lessons, trail rides, arts and crafts, mounted games, educational discussions, and learning the basics of horse care, horse health, and stable management.
